Rainbow Records is my favorite local vinyl shop and they always make Record Store Day worthwhile, so I reached out to them to see if they might be interested in having me design some of their swag for RSD 2022. They were happy to oblige and thrilled with the results.
Challenge:
The poster could be full color, but the shirt was limited to one color. It needed to say Rainbow Records, Record Store Day, and the date, and it had to be somewhat music-related in concept. Otherwise, I was free to take it in any direction I wanted.

Solution:
My wizard concept draws inspiration from Tolkien, The Legend of Zelda, and Narnia, and contains little musical easter eggs throughout (the victrola hat, the stylus arm staff, and of course the cassette tape owl). I knew it would be a hit with the shop’s retro psychedelic vibe.
